Executive Director Update

May 19, 2023

Dear Art of the Heart Community,

It is with gratitude and sadness that the Board of Directors announces the resignation of Max Amend as the Executive Director of Art of the Heart on June 30, 2023.

Max founded Art of the Heart back in the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic back in the Spring of 2020.  Max initially created the Bellarmine Virtual Concert Series through his school, Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose.  The Concert Series provided comforting musical performances to numerous Bay Area assisted living and skilled nursing agencies.

From there, AOTH blossomed into an officially recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by passionate students across the United States, and Max took on the role of Executive Director.  Even as he graduated high school and moved on to college, he has continued to spend energy and countless hours – a testament of his dedication to AOTH.

As a high school student-led organization, Max will step down to allow AOTH to continue in its mission.  He will continue his involvement with AOTH in reduced ways.

The Art of the Heart Board of Directors will announce the successor at a future date.  We are confident that Max and the staff will create a smooth transition for all involved.

We share deep gratitude to Max for all that he has contributed to bring AOTH to where it is today and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

If you have any questions about the transition, do not hesitate to reach out to the Board of Directors at board@artoftheheartmusic.org.

Sincerely,

Grant Kondo
